The Brooks Cascadia 4 has been deemed a Top Trail Running shoe by men and editors of athletic magazines. The Cascadia is available in both men and women’s styles and comes in a wide range of colors. The Cascadia was released in February of this year and the model will be discontinued this December. The next model will debut in February 2010. Features of the Cascadia include a BioMoGo midsole that is comfortable and durable. The outsole grips the ground easily, and handles slippery surfaces well. We did find that many reviewers found this shoes laces to come loose too easily.

If you need a durable water and moisture proof shoe, consider the Salomon XT Wings GTX. Unlike the Cascadia, the single pull laces stayed tied as your hit the trail. The outer portion of the shoe is crafted out of Gore-Tex lining and the shoe is ideal for hard terrain, snow, and pavement.
