Essential Information About LED Television Technology
The battle between plasma and LCD televisions was won some time ago by LCD of course; providing a comparable picture, at a lower cost, with lower energy consumption and with greater longevity. Job done you would have though then. But things are never that simple, and now we have the LED television to consider.
Cynics out there, (of which I am a fully paid up member of the club), will snort at such an announcement and claim it is nothing more than a money making exercise. And whilst this holds some water; the technology in an LED television is a step in the right direction, so should not be dismissed too readily.
To appreciate this however, it is necessary to understand where LED television technology differs from what has gone before. In the most basic of levels, LED technology is simply a progression from LCD; it uses the self same screens for a start; and works in much the same the way. The difference lies in how light is sent to the screen; with LEDs, this is done through backlighting or side lighting.

Understanding Lg Lcd Televisions And What Has Gone Into Them
When it’s time to upgrade to a new flat-panel high-definition television, and the decision has been made to go high-line, like the kinds that are available from LG, there are a few things to consider about LG LCD televisions and how well they are made. For sure, LG is known as one of the top quality makers of many fine consumer electronics such as LCD televisions.
One thing that people should keep in mind about liquid crystal display TVs is that they are so overwhelmingly superior to older style televisions — which consisted of a cathode ray tube and associated electronics plus a display screen — that there almost seems to be nothing the two have in common. CRT televisions have been around in one form or another for 70 years at least, by the way.
Not so with the modern day LCD television. Nowadays, one of these televisions is far lighter, less bulky and much better at putting out a quality high definition picture that an old-style television cannot come close to matching. Compare a 32 inch CRT television to a similar 32 inch LCD television and the superiority of the LCD TV will be readily apparent.
