One thing for sure is that no one can live without air. This days it has become the same with computers for most people cannot do without them for they depend entirely on them. Also almost everyone uses a computer on his daily activities even without the desktops or the new in town the laptop notebook computer, hell even a mobile phone is a small computer.

Working is now being done anywhere one chooses because these computers are convenient enough that they can be carried to any place anytime and they perform the same kind of work as the fossils desktops. The immense desktops are slowly becoming extinct even though they get work done, they lack portability.

These days we simply can’t live without our computers. I don’t care what your occupation may be, you probably have a computer of some sort sitting in your home or office, or both. The more modern technology now being, the laptop notebook computer. If you have not conformed to the laptop notebook computer, you will soon enough. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s all that is available soon. How much handier can you get than carrying your computer system around with you. Anywhere you choose to do some work is now available.

It wasn’t long ago that we all had the desktops. Now, don’t get me wrong, the massive desktop computers were great. They got the job done. However, now it’s hard to praise the old dinosaurs when we have the option of laptop notebook computers. These small wonders get all of the same tasks done, but without the hassle of being restricted to one specific area, or room in the house. We have achieved Internet freedom. I love the ability of being wireless and venturing to any part of my home with my laptop notebook computer in hand. Notebook, notebook computer, laptop, and laptop computer are different terms for a small computer, which is mobile, and weighing about 1 to 6 kg or 2.2 to 18 pounds, depending upon the model. In 1979-1980, Bill Moggridge of GRiD Systems Corp. designed one of the first laptops and named it as the GRiD Compass 1101. It featured the clamshell design where the flat display folded shut on the keyboard. In May 1983, Gavilan Computer Corp. introduced and first marketed as a laptop, known as Gavilan SC. About this same time, Sharp Corp.Ltd., announced their laptop Sharp PC-5000.

In 1989, Compaq introduced Compaq LTE, which was a laptop of a smaller size, about the size of an A4 paper notebook, and it popularly came to be known as a notebook computer or notebook. Thereafter the terms laptop and notebook began to be used interchangeably. Nevertheless, the terms, notebook and laptop are incorrect terms, as due to the heat, many laptops cannot be placed on top of the lap, and most notebooks are not the size of an A4 paper notebook.
